Plastics are tough no doubt about it but in the kitchen, many things are involved that makes plastic material not as durable as it seams. Take for example heat of oven and toasters which can deform plastic after continued use,whether accidentally or by habit.Plastic after long use becomes brittle and you will notice small parts chipping off. The steel will outlast the handle and you might as well buy the all alloy steel kitchen shear by henkel which are strong , dependable and can withstand shock and heat. Dont think about the price,think about the lasting quality of an all steel shear.
