2 out of 5 stars Stays "sharp" forever   September 22, 2008

I bought this knife because I need a bigger vegetable knife and this was so cheap it seemed worth a punt...

But now I am wondering what this knife is for?

The packaging suggests it's a vegetable knife and the serated blade would suggest this also... but good luck trying to cut through a carrot with it - takes a lot of effort! Tried cutting a swede with it and there was no chance. Even with soft vegetables you really have to work hard.

Given it's pretty useless with vegetables I tried it on some meat, again a waste of time.

So in conclusion what is this knife for? The bin most likely!

Gets 2 stars due to being very cheap, but it's cheap for a reason.

**EDIT** Have found that this is pretty good at cutting bread so if you're after a cheap bread knife buy this!
