Worked well (really fast boil) for about 6 months, then noticed water drips from the base, and the join between the plastic base and sides, part way up the kettle wall. Didn't really think much of it at first, but its got worse and now leaks all over the surface (leaks even more when pouring and thats not due to over filling or just being messy). It even scales up on the outside. Foolishly l didn't chase it up before the guarantee ran out... Wouldn't recommend it as these things should last more than a year - its not exactly high tech so no excuse!

Nice styling and boils fast.
Element failed after 3 months.
Expected better from a Russell Hobbs product.
Simply threw it away and bought another kettle.
Not another Russell Hobbs one I might add.
I guess all manufactures produce a dud item
sometimes.
