I bourght this kettle because I was sick of throwing away cheap kettles after six months and this looked amazing. To be honest after reading the reviews below I was a bit worried about what might be in store for me. So I emailed the manufacturer to enquire about these problems and they said there was an issue but they have recalled the effected products. I'v had this kettle since March and all seems to be going well! Great looking product

These are really great looking kettles - but I've had 3 and then gave up. Each time they just stopped working - the light came on but it didn't boil. I had 3 in 7 months - I can't believe I tried 3 times - it just looked so nice in my kitchen!

I agree with engineer.Bought product from Argos but same applies here. I have so far had 3 replacements. First 3 kettles had faulty switches and the 4th kettle gave out a bang, blue flash and then plumes of smoke!!!!! Luckily i was in kitchen so able to remove power and throw it outside or who knows what else would have happened. Very dangerous. Have emailed the company itself to notify of my safety concerns.

Bought this kettle and matching toaster which was quite an expensive set. The kettle gave up after 2 weeks (granted Debenhams replaced without question). The toaster has burnt most of the toast so far! If you don't empty the kettle after boiling, the handle becomes too hot to hold. Pity I did not read these reviews before wasting my money!

Our Prestige 423 stopped heating water after 18 months. Not an acceptable lifetime for such an expensive kettle.
