Firstly, I think this is a smart looking kettle. The brushed stainless is preferable to the shiny. The lid is a push-on pull-off yourself type which is mostly stainless steel, nothing looked as though much could go wrong or wear out. The size of the lid could have done with being slightly larger to make sure there is no water spillage on filling and you have to peer into the depths of the kettle to see how much water there is in it as there is no outside water gauge. The on-off switch is in a good place. There is minimal plastic on the kettle which is what I was looking for. The major downside is not the speed of the boil up but the noise. I'm glad I can shut it away for that reason, which is a shame. I looked at quite a few kettles and taking everything into account this came out tops. I just hope it lasts the year out.
