Brilliant kettle! December 3, 2008 H. Sparrow We have this kettle in our office of 40 people so it is almost constantly in use, it boils very quickly and is easy to operate (and the blue light is pretty!). We have had it over a year now, the longest any kettle has lasted! I am currently purchasing a second one as a back-up for when this one eventually goes. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that recently after boiling it is taking longer (30secs) to allow you to turn it on again, but I doubt this is a problem for most users!
Kenwood JKP105 Kettle October 24, 2008 Mrs. Catherine A. Burton (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just like all the other cordless kettles I have bought recently, this one just stopped working after a few months. It is cheap plastic, spits everywhere when it pours and the lid is not easy to open. I am despairing of finding a decent kettle that is value for money and lasts more than 6 months.
Cheap plastic September 11, 2008 M. A. Luke 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this kettle online (in black) and was very disappointed when I unpacked it - it has a very cheap look and feel, I knew it would be plastic but let's just say it's VERY plastic. It worked fine for just 3 weeks with no functional complaints to speak of if I'm fair - until the lid cracked. This was a surprise as we don't even use the lid but fill through the spout. On a positive side it was a welcome excuse to send it back!
JKP105 - not great May 15, 2008 Malcolm (London UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had a JK770 Kenwood kettle - very happy with that, but nothing lasts forever. Bought a JKP105 to replace it and am disappointed. On the positive, it's not expensive, it's easy to hold and the water level indicator windows are very clear, one on each side of kettle - good for left handers. On the negative, the lid does not lift back very far, so it's not easy to fill, the spout is not big enough easily to fill through. The scale filter in the spout is really fiddly to get out and a nightmare to get back in place, but worse, this kettle is a bad messy pourer
