3 out of 5 stars noisy   December 19, 2008

This is quite nice looking and doesn't drip, but noisy for a fast boil kettle. Yes the level indicator is hard to see, but it makes the kettle nicer to look at.

3 out of 5 stars Lingering plastic smell   November 24, 2008

The kettle works well and, being 3kw, it boils quickly too. It is less tall than many kettles and so is easier to fit under low kitchen taps for filling. I have two gripes with it, however. Firstly, after a week's use, the boiled water still smells of plastic. I know that this is normal for new kettles, but it usually goes after a couple of boils, but this hasn't. Secondly, the level indicator is behind the handle and difficult to see and, worse, it doesn't show the level for much less than a litre so it is difficult to boil smaller amounts of water, thus wasting energy. So, in summary, it does what it says on the box, but it's not the best kettle I've had.
