I purchased a Tefal Vitesse Jug Kettle some years ago and it proved to be brilliant all round, sturdy, fast boiling, quiet, and no exposed element. It finally gave up after extensive use, a replacement was duly ordered. Boiling over with excitement when delivered, as cooking water in a saucepan on the hob was so tediouse, imagine my dissapointment when the new one wouldn't work because the switch was faulty. Duly complained and a replacement was sent, this arrived, but with a split in the back. Both kettles have been returned and the order cancelled.
My original Vitesse was manufactured in France, the replacement's in China as seems to be the case with most things now, shame.
