Product Description The Le Creuset Kettle in an attractive cone shape with french styling. Considering how often you use your kettle, isn''t it worth having the best? Complete with whistle, this kettle is suitable for all heat sources including ceramic hobs. Capacity: 1.6L / 2.8pt

A real lemon January 2, 2009 Mrs. S. M. Littlewood (Haywards Heath, UK) This is a a beautiful kettle which sadly does not work. Obviously the design was put into production without being tested. We are sending back kettle number 2. Both kettles ceased to whistle after a very short time. The ring around the top of the kettle where the lid sits allows steam through thereby scalding the hand which is holding the handle. Effectively the designers did not think about the pressure that builds up as it boils. A most disappointing product from what used to be a manufacturer of top quality goods
Don't buy it December 15, 2008 Mr. D. W. Mason (Dorset) I bought this from a local retailer based on looks and reputation, I wish I hadn't. The whistle doesn't work, and on a whistling kettle that could be considered a major shortcoming. I have nearly boiled it dry several times and will be taking it back later today. Consider it to be the Paris Hilton of the kettle world, looks nice and doesn't work.
Don't be put off from buying! December 2, 2008 F. Beare (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed a new Whistler for our new induction hob. Money being a bit tight near Christmas, I thought I would have a squiz at Amazon. This one was the cheapest listed, but as soon as I read the reviews my heart sank! - Still I needed a kettle & I thought I would risk it. I am glad I did, because it came the next day and it has been excellent. Well made, boils the water very quicklly and I am so pleased with it. - So don't be put off from buying it!
Looks pretty but doesn't pour ... November 10, 2008 Chris (Horrorfordshire) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Caution - whilst this looks pretty, it doesn't pour at all well - remember this when you scald yourself/the cat ... bad design - angle the spout correctly next time Le Creuset, eh? - Not one for the Design Museum ... Oh, and, the whistle doesn't work either ...
Warning Dangerous Design!!!!! September 12, 2008 Mr. D. W. HUNTER (UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This kettle has two faults - firstly when the kettle boils, the spout superheats and when you pour the water, it bubbles out all over the surface and potentially YOU!!!! Secondly the top handle as you can see in the diagramme is hinged which again when hot means that the hinge is flexible and the kettle will swing a tad, on the handle! In my view, it's a rubbish kettle and environmentally - you should be buying an electric kettle that you can measure the amount of water you NEED before boiling your money away on the gas hob!
