I wanted a kettle that looked quite good but was practical for everyday and this kettle fits the bill. It weighs a little under 3 pounds when empty, so compared to our old plastic kettle it is a little heavy, but then it would feel heavier than a plastic one! It is also a little on the noisy side if you were looking for one that was particularly quiet. The keep warm feature keeps water plenty hot enough for a hot cup of coffee when I tried it out after an hour, but if you are fussy about proper tea you would need to boil it up again. I thought this feature would be really useful but I have only ended up using it a couple of times since we bought it about 3 weeks ago. Would recommend it as an ordinary everyday kettle that looks a bit different.
