I bought one of these winter 2007. It packed up within a month, I got a replacement. It has just packed up and now is tripping the house RCD 1 year later (I kept the receipt and packaging just in case.)
Very poor reliability.
Looks very nice, unreliable and it doesn't pour very well.
I had a Morphy Richards kettleMorphy Richards 43136 Polished Stainless Steel Titanium Traditional Kettle 3100w before this one, similar in style, but chrome, it still works, and pours much better than Prestige one. I'll use this from now on.

I have had to refurnish my house after the floods in 2007, bought the toaster and kettle to match my nice new kitchen, have been using it for the grand total of 4 weeks, this morning it nearly gave me heart failure when it went bang and lit up the kitchen

I have both the kettle and the toaster, both have chipped outer coating they seem to mark easily which is a shame as they are both very attractive appliances, another down side is the kettle, it is very heavy and the lid can be a little troublesome.
