Nice concept, bad design December 15, 2006 S. Matossian I thought I was in heaven when I found a kettle that filtered and boiled in a more or less decent design. But it's AWFUL - it just LEAKS EVERYWHERE when pouring. I thought we had reduced 2 kitchen appliances (kettle and filter jug) by buying an all-in-one filter kettle, but in the old filter jug's place we now have a spillage cloth sitting on the worktop.
disappointing January 24, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
we have had to report a fault with this kettle, three replacements later and the one we have at this moment leaks water just like the others. Good customer service from Morphy richards, they sent replacement straightaway, but kettle still leaks!
rubbish Kettle January 17, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This kettle is a load of crap!!! - I've had this make for about a year, the little lid flap at the front broke off after a few months, then the whole lid broke after that... It does filter but still leaves limescale residue in the bottom of the kettle which is not the point of using a filter kettle. My advice is dont buy this make of kettle spend your money on a better product thats been road tested to the max Cheers -
Never again November 14, 2005 L. S. Clifton (south of England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Probably the worst electrical appliance I have ever owned..( I have owned 5 of these things) Replaced twice the lid snapps off really easily the spout is easily damaged which leads to water flowing down the front of the vessel rather than into the cup/pot. None of the Timers has ever worked for more than a couple of weeks. Some have leaked and despite regulare replacment of cartridge they all scale up so it looks awful. The only reason I keep using the surviving one is that I purchased the filters in bulk and it seems a shame to throw them awayI thought they had been discontinued.. on the positive side..they boil quickly!
Do not buy this product February 12, 2005 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Within a few weeks of purchasing this kettle it started to drip heavily whenever I poured from it. Steam also escaped from gaps in the handle and lid, resulting in minor scalding. Took the kettle back to Argos who said they could only provide a replacement. The second kettle did EXACTLY the same. Eventually contacted Morphy Richards by email who said they had made some design improvements to this product and sent us another replacement. The lid on the spout broke before I'd even managed to get it out of the box. Needless to say it's never even been plugged in and is still in the box. Morphy Richards have now offered us another replacement from their range of kettles. This product has a serious design flaw and I would persuade anyone not to buy it.
