only lasted 18 months August 16, 2008 cageyr (Northumberland, UK) Bought as a Which? recommended best buy. Really happy with it for 18 months - then it just stopped working.
leaking kettle July 30, 2008 Mr. Matthias Dahm (scotland, glasgow) bought this kettle less than 2 years ago. started seriously leaking within few months ( worktop wet). replacement identical model kettle from kenwood/ delongi received no problem. same thing happened within few months. however, kettle is best buy on which and until leaking i was very pleased with item. overall: avoid.
Good Inexpensive kettle - lasted nearly 2 years June 5, 2008 Mr. B. Donovan (London) I bought one of these nearly two years ago and it has a lot of use in that time - I would say far more than the average household. It is now leaking at the base. So it has lasted about twice as long as we usually managed with other kettles. I'm very pleased and am replacing it with the same. I endorse all the other favourable comments made by other eg well designed, stylish, practical etc etc.
Fine at first but then... May 9, 2008 P. Barrett I bought this as a "Which?" best buy and was initially very pleased with it as it is light and also fast to boil. Unfortunately after only four months the "on" light ceased to finction and shortly after that the kettle started to leak. It is now leaking so badly that I have to empty it completely immediately after boiling and I will have to claim under the guarantee. Not recommended.
Great for 6 months, but then ... February 14, 2008 Joe90 (Gloucester) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this kettle based on its "Which?" recommendation and other reviews. For 6 months it has been great, quiet operation, rapid boil, easy pour, ergonomic. It then started dripping water out of the base where the handle joins the base. This has got gradually worse, such that the kitchen worktop has to be mopped up every time the kettle is lifted up, as does the base unit. It is a little worrying that the leak is close to the electrical connection in the base unit. It seems I'm not the only one to suffer this problem. I've decided enough is enough, and have returned for a refund it under it's 12 month guarantee. Try another make.
