We have had the same problem with ours, it looked lovelly and heated the water quickly as you'd expect but after approx 7 mnths it started leaking
Very dissapointed!

We've had our kettle for a bit more than a year and over the last few months it has sprung a leak. The water is seeping out of the unit between the base and the metal side casing. The escaping water sits on the base unit, risking electrocution of the brew maker. It's got so bad that we need to fix/replace.
I'd avoid if I were you - I certainly won't be buying Breville again.

Very stylish kettle, looks the business. Very noisy, would seem to take far longer to boil than previous quick boil kettles owned by me, when reaches boiling point it takes a very long time to switch of which results in massive amounts of steam being produced.

I picked this kettle as it looks great. It certainly does and the wooden handle is a nice finishing touch and makes it easy to use/pour. It boils very quickly. I have lost it 1 point as although it boils fast it is quite noisy.
