Funny Taste Now And Then ... February 4, 2008 C. Greenwood We have this kettle and have discovered the funny taste. However if you descale it, the taste goes away! It does come back now and then but we just regularly descale it as we love this kettle to bits!

I didn't buy this kettle but bought the stainless steel lighning with quiet boil but was looking for other breville kettle reviews, and as reading, I have also had a problem with the water tasting not right, almost like "TCP or burnt plasic". I took my first kettle back and replaced for the same one as i do really like the style, but still i have the same problem with the second. I wasn't sure if it was my water or me so even bought bottled water and took the kettle to one of my family's house to try their water and my water in their kettle,(yes a bit extreme, but really like the kettle) but still the same problem. Shame really as i did really like the kettle especially because it was so quiet. But it's a problem when your guest can't drink their cuppa! Was wondering if anyone else had the same problem?

Do not buy this kettle - after 2 1/2 months we still had a metallic taste and had to take it back for the white plastic one.

I bought this kettle because my parents had one and it was so good. Every kettle I have had poors badly and drops water over the side or burns you with the drips. This poors nicely, easy to keep clean and has a keep warm function which is very useful whist cooking and making the tea!
a good kettle March 13, 2006 S. Wilkins (brighton uk) 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
If you really want a kettle that lights up blue when you turn it on then this is surely the kettle for you.Apart from that,it just boils water like any other kettle, except with a bit more style...
