Care with this kettle! August 31, 2008 R. A. Johnston (UK) Whilst it looks good, it is not a safe product. The casing gets excessively hot and several people burnt themselves on it. Also the plastic panels that show the water level have crazed and one is now leaking - an expensive mistake buying this - fit for the bin after 3 years.
Rubbish August 15, 2008 Fran (France) This kettle started to not function properly within two weeks of purchasing it. It wont switch itself off after boiling, its also very noisy and hot as mentioned by other reviewers and the cheap plastic inside broke and now the lid wont close, we will be returning it. But annoyed by time wasted and having to deal with this useless product. Will never buy Krups again.
this kettle is DANGEROUS February 6, 2008 visioncat (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm repeating the points made by other reviewers - the entire kettle barring the handle gets extremely hot and the curve of the handle makes it difficult to avoid touching the outside of the kettle as you pour. I boiled mine precisely once, burned myself three times, boxed it up as soon as it cooled down and returned it. This product should be withdrawn. Regarding the comment that metal kettles are bound to get hot, this is not necessarily true - many metal kettles are now insulated so that the outside remains cool to the touch even after boiling it.
Great kettle - had for two years now November 29, 2007 Mr. J. Reynolds 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have this kettle in the black (plastic) version, I can't understand why you would want to buy a metal one. Metal is a conductor of heat and it will get hot! What do you expect?! Buy the plastic one, it's much cooler and easier to keep clean. I would agree with others that it is very noisy.
PROMISE PRECISION AND PEREFECTION November 26, 2007 K. Norman (Durham UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
KRUPS promise "precision and perfection" but this kettle does not live up to either. The first one I bought in Augudst of 2006 went back after just a few days as the switch did not work. The replacement has now started leaking from the level display. Having paid a premium price I expect a premium product. If I'd wanted a kettle that functioned for only 14 months I could have bought one for a tenth of the price!
