 What a lot of suck, but boy are my arms sore August 7, 2007

I have never owned one before, so can not really comment on the improvements of others models. But first impressions are good, picked this model because it was rated well by witch.co.uk and family said it makes carpets look like new. Well for a start they look the same tatty old things to me, I have no idea where all the dust was hiding, but it sucked up loads compared to my bag vacum.
Downside, I am far from weak. After vacuming my house my shoulder was suffering, it is hard work - think it is down to the amount of suction. The extension to do the stairs also made my arms buldge, can't see my gran using this particular model.
Love the dyson, highly recommended. Might think about the cylinder range next time, less likely get a work out at the same time.

I purchased this item via the Amazon Marketplace and whilst the vacuum cleaner works fine, it was advertised as arriving within 2 days. It didn't arrive and after posting a 3 star rating, the company Pixmania contacted me and offered me my money back for carriage.
Whilst this is a generous offer, I don't have time to discuss the issue with Pixmania, or to withdraw my rating: I paid for prompt delivery on the expectation that it would arrive quickly and it didn't.
One other note, the company that delivered the cleaner left it outside by my garage, where it stood all weekend as we were away!
Say's it all really, I am confident in the product but I personally would not use Pixmania again.

Old Dyson DC01 was a great machine so I naturally chose to replace it when it finally packed up. Shopped around - compared types of machine and prices before coming back to Amazon for a good deal. It arrived a few days after ordering and the new Dyson is doing a very good job - they are pricey but I think they are worth it.

I have had a Dyson for many years and have just recenlty bought this newer model. I have to say that it is fantastic and makes cleaning a pleasure.
Although a little wider, it is nowhere near as bulky as the older DC04 as this one is lighter and the cylinder is lower down the shaft, which makes a big difference.
I would recommend to everyone.

I bought this vaccuum cleaner a year ago after being fed up with the pathetic job my morphy richards was doing after only a few months. I couldnt believe the amount of dirt the Dyson picked up in just a quick ten minute test hoovering of the hall carpet! A year later and its still doing a brilliant job every time I get it out. This cleaner will pick up all the dirt from your carpets every time you hoover, and will leave them looking like new. So easy to empty with its click button (just like the advert). The only drawback I would say is that it is very noisy, and very heavy, but you can do the hoovering in about the third of the time than it would take with any other vaccuum cleaner and the results are outstanding. Well built and well worth the money!
