A truly fantastic iron April 19, 2007 S. Thomas (UK) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have gone through several irons in the past couple of years, mostly because they were not up to ironing linens and thick cottons. This iron makes very light work of the lot! The iron has a dial that determines the heat setting according to fabric and is very easy to set. Filling the iron from the base is unusual but I got used to it very quickly and it is much less cumbersome than the traditional methods where I tended to find water would get spilt. It seems to hold a reasonable amount of water, so refilling isn't necessary very often and, because it is so good at getting rid of creases with minimal effort, I probably also use less water anyway. I haven't found the weight of the iron an issue at all; even when ironing for a few hours. The best bit about this iron though is the base. Nothing has got stuck to it, possibly because the dial setting the temperature is so clearly coded that it would be difficult to iron on too hot a setting.
It's given me tennis elbow! May 16, 2006 Ian Brooker 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
I have been using this iron for the last couple of months and find it really heavy and awkward to use. So much so that I now have a nasty case of tennis elbow! The bottom filling thing is a pain in the neck and the cord rubs on my arm as I'm ironing. I wouldn't recommend this iron to anyone.
Not all its cracked up to be March 31, 2006 21 out of 24 found this review helpful
We've been using this iron for two weeks now and are not very impressed at all. My partner found it cumbersome to use (and he is hardly a whimp) nor did he like filling from the bottom in mid iron (although that didn't particularly bother me) but both of us dislike the fact that the iron leaves lots of "wet splodges" all over the garment when ironing. Okay, so these eventually dry off but it must be a design fault if water rather than steam is coming out of the holes when ironing, especially when using the cotton, linen or jeans settings. What does 'non-drip' mean if this is the case? All in all, if I'd only paid 15/20 for this iron I'd probably put up with it but at 60 it has to go back and I'll be spending my money on something more acceptable.
Excellent January 24, 2006 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
Have this iron now 5 weeks before it had the fancy black azure iron from phillips which fell apart. Reluctant to try a tefal but am massively impressed and it is so much hotter than the phillips. only downfall is filling it through the base it can be a bit awkward mid ironing...
