Fantastic product very impressed! April 15, 2008 DL Pritchard (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Hi there, after having a russell hobbs steam generator for a couple of years which gave up the ghost on me last week I had no option than to buy a new iron. I intially bought a breville ir 18 and took it back as the steam just bellowed out of it all the time and it was very dangerous. I had looked at the tefals but thought they were quite expensive however after purchasing this one I genuinely believe you get what you pay for. I got a really good deal actually in costco on this iron and paid considerably less than the other shops. The iron is fab and I have just rattled through my ironing. The steam only comes out when you press the steam button not like the cheaper steam generator where it still comes out when you have stopped pressing the button. The lock system on the top is great and makes it very easy to carry the iron around. The automatic rewind cable is great and stores away very neatly inside the iron. All in all really happy with this product and would not go back to my old russell hobbs!

I disagree with Wintermist, I run an ironing service so you can imagine how long the above iron is on, it's a reliable, easy to use and most of all extremely capable of doing its job, if used properly it doesn't leave water spots, with this appliance I can iron a badly creased pair of jeans in a minute and I don't think you can ask for more than that.

Whilst this appliance looks attractive and is good for ironing if you do not wish to use steam. I found it to be time consuming. I appreciate that the water tank holds .85litres of water and that it is convenient if you have only a small amount of ironing to do, however, for a family load of ironing the time taken for the iron to reheat every few strokes means that if you wish to iron speedily it will leave great spodges of water on the clothes. There is also a problem with the 'type' of water you can use. It recomends only using tap water, which you do not find out until you have purchased the iron, as this is only mentioned in the operating instructions. As we have softened and filtered water it means that I should not have bought this appliance. Unfortunately mine will be going back.
