Cat hairs no longer a problem! June 9, 2008 Spaceminkey (London, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've only had this a day and can't wait for it to recharge. Yes it has a short 6 minute charge that you have to use wisely, but boy when it's ready it sucks up cat hair a treat. I've never seen my sofa so clean! Bit expensive perhaps but my boyfriend loves the look of this and there is more chance of me having clean stairs etc with him wanting to use it because it looks so cool - shame it doesn't make shooting noises though, or you get a pair to fight with!
great little machine April 23, 2008 AnneM (London,UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
As an owner of a couple of cats and having always found it difficult to get the stair carpet clear of cat fur- I ordered this machine with little real hope that it would be able to get fur easily off the carpet. However, charged it up for 3 hours, turned it on and hey presto, stairs cleaned of car fur easily with no real difficulty. Would recommend this to anyone with pets as it does what it says- the rotating head attachment clears through carpet pile, its light and easy to use, its not too noise and charges easily. The instructions are a little unclear- only pictures with little text but did manage to figure the pictures out. That is pretty small negative though as on the whole it is user friendly and gives great results.
Dyson DC16 March 11, 2008 C. Moir (glasgow) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
less enthusiastic than other reviews, I'm afraid looks good and not heavy, so easy to handle - however like other Dyson products is over-designed but under-built - feels flimsy and not likely to last (had Dyson fullsize vacuum - heavy, dirty and kept breaking)- also short battery life a pain in it's favour is that suction is excellent, if short lived, and power brush pretty good. no real competition in the U.K. - maybe that explains the outrageous purchase price - should be about 60- 70 for what you get.
Good Dyson quality in a small package January 2, 2008 E. Kane (London, UK) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
A good buy. This small cleaner is much that you would expect from a Dyson - stylish, easy to use, and very good at picking up the dust. Like other Dysons it also has an extremely poor manual which relies on pictures rather than text. This is fine when there is no problem - but I still have a piece of the machine sitting in the box which doesn't have a picture and I still don't know what it is for. But this should not detract from a really effective hand-held vacuum cleaner which beats most of the competition around. The battery life is okay - and the short charging time is an asset - but it would need 10 minutes rather than the 6 it provides for this product to be rated as a 'five star' one.
Dyson DC16 handheld cleaner is the best in the world. November 6, 2007 neilstudio (London, UK) 40 out of 47 found this review helpful
This little machine is amazing. I fell in love with it straight out the box. Smaller and lighter than it looks in the photos on Amazon (in fact on any webpage- where size is hard to scale) it came with a 30second charge that I immediately took advantage of. Then I charged it for the required 3 hours, delighting in watching the progression of lights as the charge reached full (easily pleased), and how refreshing not to have to charge it overnight or for 8 hours+ like so many other battery powered appliances and gadgets need for their first use. It feels great in the hand, and as I said before, is lighter than I expected. You have to keep the trigger pressed to vacuum, which isn't as annoying as it sounds as it's well placed and responsive and the handle feels really comfortable. You'll read a lot about the poor battery life. Work out how you want to use this cleaner and whether that'll be a problem for you. For me it's not. Let's face it you'll never try and hoover all the floors with this, it's perfect for 'dust-busting'. The fact that it's bagless is also a big selling point for me. Let's face it, hoover bags are never cheap, and the bag chambers on regular vacuum cleaners always quickly build up dirt and dust. Great just to hold this Dyson over a bin and release the collection chamber to empty it. Buying this I've realised that Dyson is one of our few quality companies left. Buy this, you will love it. If you don't then return it!
