Product Description 1.7L durable, stainless-steel kettle with concealed heating element, 360 rotational base, removable scale filter, 3-level safety system and clear water-level indication windows. This elegant and durable stainless-steel High Gloss Metal Jug boils water quickly. The safety system turns the power off once the water has boiled, if the kettle is accidentally switched on when empty, or in the case of a short circuit. The removable and washable scale filter ensures hot beverages that are free of any scale particles. The concealed heating element heats evenly, fast and efficiently. The element surface is completely flat, making it easy to clean. Please Note: All electrical products sold by cookinstyle (InStyle Products Limited) are supplied with a UK 3 pin plug.

No frills, does the job October 12, 2008 Miss Cranky I was looking for a simple, no frills kettle to replace our very old one. Having read some of the previous reviews, I decided that this one was way better than others - quick, "nicely balanced", "easy to fill". Although I am still happy with it - it boils water, after all - I must say that I do not agree with some of the reviewers. My wrists might be wrong shape, but I do not find the kettle nicely balanced at all - it's awkward and heavy. It is not particularly easy to fill through the spout and the lid is stiff on my kettle. It is noisy and not very quick. Otherwise a nice, neat-looking kettle. We have had it for over a year and it's still working.
sadly incontinent August 30, 2008 Dolph (Nottingham) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this kettle for the same reason and about the same time ago as a previous reviewer. I paid extra for the expected durability etc. Kettle has started to leak via one of the see through sides and is now destined for the bin. I find it disappointing that Philips do not value their product quality as an important factor. I will go to Bosch this time as I am impressed by their consistently reliable, effective and enduring appliances.
Best Kettle Yet! June 18, 2008 D. J. Russell (England, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this kettle for my parents in November 2007 and it's still going strong. It boils fast and I suppose you could say it's noisy, but the previous kettle they had was a lot louder and slower. If it boils fast then it will be noisey, no way of getting round that really - that's physics for ya baby! My only complaint is that my parents don't push the metal filter gauze back down properly after washing out the limescale flakey bits. You need to push the filter in until it clicks into place - otherwise you'll get loads of limescale bits in your tea! If you live in a hard water area that is.
Lasted 18 Months May 31, 2008 Mr. Christopher Aiken (North Yorkshire U.K.) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I specifically bought this kettle as a quality product with a powerful element for fast boiling. Unfortunately after 18 months , and out of warranty, it has started leaking from the 'see through' windows onto the base. I've binned it and gone back to cheaper 4.50 one from a supermarket. Very disappointing.
Excellent Kettle May 12, 2008 Mr. M. F. Allen (Hayes, Middlesex, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As a kettle it does exactly what it should. A complaint was made about the noise it makes when boiling. This is no noisier than any other kettle I have owned and I can unreservedly recommend it to any potential purchaser.
