Oh Dear, bad news. Great tasting coffee that stays fresh! November 29, 2008 C. Weedon (London) We fell in love with this percolator at my parents' house. It looks pretty, makes great tasting coffee, and is easy to use. And the coffee stays tasting fresh and hot for 24 hours! Bad news for my body though - I drank so much coffee that it didn't know what had hit it (I usually only drink 1 cup a day).
robust - in make and aroma November 19, 2008 friend of Pooh (lincolnshire) I've had this for nearly 3 months and it is wonderful. No broken bits, like some have reported...it seems quite robust! Coffee flavour? Not horrible like some have reported..it depends on the grounds you buy. Easy to clean, easy to use, keeps hot for ages. I put the used grounds in out garden waste recycling bin...ideal on a compost heap...
best ever September 25, 2008 grandma (northumberland) I have tried many different coffee makers over the years ,and this model is best ever . easy and quick to use ,also pours beautifully :The coffee remains piping hot for a long time even after it has been switched off . We can still use left over later on in the day .just switch it back on to percolate again ,and it still tastes fresh :
Great machine - nice coffee !! June 23, 2008 B. Christie (East Yorkshire, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had our Dualit percolator for 18 months now and never get tired of using it. It makes a fine cup of coffee and although there are some grounds they soon settle at the bottom. We like strong coffee so tend to fill the basket a tad higher than the guide recommends. The only problem we have had was two weeks ago when the back of the plug came away when I pulled it from the socket. It wouldn't have been a problem to just change it but since the plug is moulded I did not want to invalidate the warranty. I sent Dualit a letter and photograph of the plug. Just six days later a new base plate arrived in the post. Excellent customer service on the part of Dualit !
Knob keeps breaking January 28, 2008 Mark (Kent) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I originally bought this 3 years ago for an xmas gift for my partner. We expected a no-nonsense coffee maker that would last. After a few months use, the plastic knob on the lid snapped off making it unusable as the coffe percolates through the lid. Their customer services were very helpful and send another one. A few months later, the same thing happened again, we were sent a second replacement. Shortly afterwards, I accidentally submerged the base in a bowl of water when washing up. As there are holes in the side, the water flooded into the electrics. It took weeks before it was usuable again. This morning, for the 3rd times, the knob sheared off again - all I was doing was taking the lid off to wash up. Other niggles are. about 1 in 20 times, you think you are brewing coffee and the green light comes on to tell you it it ready but when you go to pour, all you have is hot water. Also, compared to a filter machine, it takes a lot more coffee. Also, the coffee s slightly bitter compared to filter coffee. It looks good and is very solid but sadly didn't live up to expectations. I am now looking for a filter machine to replace it with and it won't be dualit.
