Great, for a while, then the problems start... October 25, 2008 Niknac (London, UK) This is a wonderful product - seemingly beautifully designed, clever, innovative, and the coffee it produces is as good as the best I've had in Italy. The problem is, it leaks round the seal, the aluminium discolours and goes grey, you burn your hand on the metal round the handle, and it spills coffee when you pour it. BUT, just try keeping it clean! Unfortunately it can only have been designed by a man who has never tried washing up in his life. It is impossible to clean round the (very) complex centre moulding, and impossible to clean the milk deposits off (and inside) the valve unit. After a while the coffee starts to taste sour, and you'll spend ages trying to scrub all the yukky bits away. Then, after 6 months daily use, the valve on mine just seized up and I'm not able to make coffee any more. Very disappointing.
Disappointing purchase October 16, 2008 P. Bastiani (London, UK) Been Italian, I've chosen Bialetti with confidence. Unfortunately it wasn't a good choice! It's very difficult to close it properly, hence the water/coffee dripping on the cooker. Unless cleaned straight away(as we have all the time in the world in the morning)the milk get stuck everywhere. the froth or cream it's nowhere near what I thought it would be. prabably better using a normal moka, warm up some milk and use a whisker (both washable in the dish washer)! for 37 I cannot complaint about the price but what a let down. Pity really
Does what is says September 18, 2008 Kas (Northamptonshire) After trawling the internet looking for cappuccino makers I came across the Mukka Express and after reading reviews decided to give it a go. I made my first cappuccino and it was great just like the cappuccino you buy from coffee shops. At this was my first attempt it can only get better. I used Lavazza expresso and it worked fine but if you want it to be stronger buy a stronger espresso. Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong and it does what it says. I left my cappuccino for five minutes and the froth was brilliant and it stayed all the way through the coffee and gripped the sides of the cup, great little invention. It makes one very large mug of cappuccino so the down side is if you are making for a couple of people you have to repeat the process but this all depends on how large you want you cup of cappuccino to be. For the price its great, does'nt take long to clean and its very simple was and leave to dry. If you want a cappuccino maker and don't want the fuss and hassle or a bulky machine buy this, for the price its fab, I am not disappointed at buying this and can't wait to make more lovely cappuccino.
Simply fantastic!! July 4, 2008 Hector (Bham, UK) I have been drinking the best South American coffee since I remember (my first baby bottle had a double-shot of expresso :-)). I have also been using a stove expresso maker since the time I could reach the stove... and let me tell you, this thing is amazing! No plastic-fantastic electronics or electricity need it, just a solid piece of engineering that produces a wonderful cappuccino EVERY time. As for durability, it looks a lot like my other Bialetti (6 cup Moka Express), and that one has been making my expresso twice a day for the last 10 years!!! what else do you want!! Now, for those of you that give a bad review: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! it's as simple as that. I bought it for my wife on her first mother's day ;-) and she is the happiest mommy now. Finally, do yourself a favor, if you are considering this coffee maker go ahead without fear... you will love it!
Makes Great Coffee, never had any problems with it May 30, 2008 Ms. A. F. Lenagh-davies We have been using this excellent coffee maker for nearly a year. It makes great hassle free coffee. Not sure why others have had problems, perhaps not following the instructions or tightening it properly. If you want something that makes nice tasting coffee without too much fuss then id recommend getting this.
