Tefal ProFry 1000 6316315P Professional Fryer, Chrome

One of my favourite kitchen appliances out of some very many expensive things I've convinced myself I've needed. Highly reccomend.

I chose this product after owning..and throwing several previous fryers which are your more "standard" design having a integral element and a cool touch plastic case. I always found these to be a pain to keep clean, hence my choice for this fryer.
Bascially it's terrific. The element/controls are easily removed so the frame / bowl and lid can be cleaned with ease.
Even though it can be easily taken apart it is extremely sturdy when assembled.
The shape allows for easy storage compared to the "round" type
It does take a lot of oil...mainly due to the cool zone at the base...which is basically the oil under the element..a good half an inch. Despite the 4L capacity ( this is oil) the actually cooking basket is smaller than I expected..but can easily hold 6 good size portions of chips in one go.

It heats up very quickly...but at the same time takes a long time to cool...the sides do get hot.
My only two gripes, are the lid...in that sure it has a steel filter...but it doesn't keep the smells contained, pretty much just there to stop oil splashes, whilst letting the steam out.
I'd say you'd definitly need to operate this under a cooker extractor fan. I would rather have seen a charcoal/washable filter included.
Also Tefal skimped a little on the rubber feet for what they are worth...before you use this...glue them in, as they keep falling out!

Being a gourmet type of chip person resulted in careful selection of a replacement for our old plastic cased fryer that was laid to rest 6 months ago.
The 4ltr capacity was the first attraction with style a close second.
This product delivers in all areas, fast heat up, accurate temperature, no expensive filters and a good price from Amazon.
My only gripe is that the handle could have been made more rigid as it tends to fold up when tipping the chips out.

EASY TO USE, EASY TO CLEAN AND HEATS UP EXTREMELY QUICKLY. IT HAS A LARGE CAPACITY SO YOU CAN FIT CHIPS FOR ABOUT FOUR PEOPLE AND ROASTIES FOR ABOUT TWO IN ONE GO. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FRYER AS IT GIVES MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE FOR A MINIMUM PRICE.

This fryer looks good, doesn't take up as much room as my old square one did & is very fast to heat up - which did surprise me as it takes a lot of oil! It has a large capacity so would be great if you've lots of grown-ups to feed and the filter in the lid really seems to work - no cooking smells tonight! It also goes in the dishwasher to clean, so that's another reason to like it.
