The wrong choice for me April 8, 2008 Gharbage Hepe (High Wycombe, UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Being the first "proper" coffee machine I had bought, maybe I didn't know what I was doing, but for me buying the Magimix was a mistake. I agree that it is well made, but I like a mug of coffee at breakfast, and the tiny little capsules provided make only enough to fill a teacup, and even then it isn't strong. I suppose I could make two shots (with double the hassle and costing 44p per mug), but that's not what I was expecting to have to do. So I look longingly at the larger Dolce Gusto capsules which can be bought off the shelf in the supermarket and I think I'd have been better off choosing a machine which uses them instead. And another thing - I can't get a permanent froth on the milk for cappucino, which is the kind of coffee I really like, and although the glossy literature describes all the different flavours of coffee available, to be honest they all taste more or less the same to me! The one good thing I've found is that I can re-use the empty containers by putting ordinary ground coffee in them and so save myself trouble and money ordering new ones!
Great little Machine March 13, 2008 A. Metcalfe (Newcastle, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a Gaggia Pharos which I paid nearly 500 for several years ago. The quality of the coffee from this machine is ten times better than the gaggia. The gaggia's good but it can be inconsistent cup after cup, this machine is not. the selection of pods are excellent. They are only available from the nespresso club online/telephone. I ordered some on a Weekend and they arrived on the following Tuesday. they cost 21p - 24p each and you pay for delivery. i would have given it 5 stars but the method of frothing milk seems to be a little bit of a faff. To be honest its good around device, small and good quality build and the coffee quality is excellent. Theres some nice accessories also. would certainly recommend.
Magimix 150 Nespresso coffee maker July 12, 2005 Mrs Heather Hills (Plymouth, Devon United Kingdom) 51 out of 52 found this review helpful
We have tried many ways of getting the best coffee out of a machine/cafetiere etc. and this is definitely the winner! As other people have said, it is not the cheapest option but the coffee is great every time with a wonderful crema. Having a selection of different coffees means you can cater for every taste. I have also found the frother very easy to use. Having had a Magimix food processor which only let me down after 25 years of use, I feel I can trust the manufacturer as well. So far the machine has proved very reliable and the Nespresso club is efficient and orders come through very quickly.
Excellent coffee June 15, 2005 Graham Wright (West Sussex) 35 out of 36 found this review helpful
An easy and very tasty means of making coffee. The old caffetiere lies redundant in the cupboard. One small criticism of this model is its fragile frame - particularly the water container and base. An excellent after-sales service- Nespresso are always there ready to help. The capsules can be ordered on the internet and arrive very promptly.
You get what you pay for May 7, 2004 41 out of 42 found this review helpful
I first saw a Nespresso demonstration about three years ago, and I was impressed by the coffee. Almost two years ago, i finally took the plunge and purchased an M150. I've never regretted it -it produces the best expresso I've ever tasted. At 21p per cup (or 23 for the limited editions) it's not the cheapest way, but it's consistent -and very clean to use. The Nespresso club are very efficient with delivery, and very helpful when theres's a (very rare) problem.
