Collectable miniature cup and saucer. Manufactured by Royal Worcester for Compton & Woodhouse in the 1990's. Complete with original box and certificate. There are 12 available in different patterns. This particular pattern is James Giles Cut Fruit. Inspired by an original cup and saucer in the Dyson Perrins Museum dating 1770. Originally painted in the London studio of James Giles, who decorated many pieces for Royal Worcester in the Dr Wall period. The vivid colours of the cut fruit and flower design indicate a continental influence and are perfectly set off by the translucence of fine white china. This item is coloured blue also. The certificate included indicates white. Possibly the wrong certificate? In excellent condition. Measures approx: cup: 1 1/3 inches (3cm) in height and 2 inches (5cm) in diameter. Saucer: 3 1/2 inches (8cm) in diameter. Weight of the item in box is 120g.
