Surprisingly environmentally friendly each French cast iron piece is manufactured from over 80% recycled iron and the state of the art foundry has impeccable filtration systems to reduce any potential pollution to their local environment. Even the sand modules are broken down after each moulding and the sand can be reused again to make more moulds. Suitable for use on gas glass/ceramic radiant ring and halogen hobs. They are dishwasher safe.

Particularly useful for a sensible sized `tarte tatin', as hob to oven is no problem and although it is not of `the non-stick variety`, it cleans up really easily in hot, soapy water.
Comes with a handy little `Chasseur' care booklet which includes a recipe idea for each product range, in this case - `Turkey Escalope with Cream'.
As one would expect - this is a rather weighty item, especially when full of food, so that useful `assist handle' is really essential to aid balanced lifting, BUT don't forget your oven gloves!
Available in a choice of colours and suitable for all heat sources.

I do love the solid cast iron construction - very nice for cooking things that need a heavy-based pan. But I can't help comparing the surface to that of my (dishwasher-safe!) and easily cleaned Le Creuset casseroles. This one does not go in the dishwasher and is a sod to clean into the bargain (cream cleanser and scourer required every time). Some might say I should just get a non-stick pan - but non-stick always flakes in the end. Easy to clean enamel can be done, so why not get it right?

A splendid cooking implement and too heavy for the wife to lift above her head, thus rendering it useless as a weapon. Highly recommended.
