My word, it's big! April 30, 2008 Ichabod J (Farleigh Wallop, Hampshire) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This seems such a good idea especially if you're someone who likes to eat bananas on the go. However, as other banana-eating reviewers have noted, there are drawbacks to this product. It's very large and may draw unwanted attention and remarks when produced from one's bag. Still, the comic appearance of the banana guard must be balanced against the function it delivers; no more unsightly black marks on your banana! Just how bothered you are by squishy bits on your fruit may determine your willingness to be seen in public brandishing this bendy monster.
Size matters! February 15, 2008 Claire (Cheshire, England) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
What a genious Idea, or so I thought, viewing this gadget on the page, I love bananas, would welcome a solution to transport one for lunches and for said banana to be edible several hours later. I ordered one straight away, what a shock when it arrived, I cannot believe the size of it, it is huge! I've never seen a banana this size, it could certainly be scaled down and still fit the purpose. It could never fit into a lunchbox, would take up a large space in your bag, it is rigid too, it's unfortunate shape and size will make it an embarrassing conversation topic every lunchtime, I honestly don't think I will ever use it. Besides, I work as cabin crew, I'm not entirely sure they'll let me through airport security with this thing, it is lethal looking. If you've a good sence of humour and like to be the center of attention during lunch breaks, buy it!
Fantastic for the kid's snacks!!! December 29, 2007 SPN (An American in England!) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought two of these a few years ago and take bananas along on trips with my children. My kids, like many others, do not like bruised bananas, so this has been a huge help. I've never had a problem fitting a banana in it and although it is a bit bulky, it does make a difference on a long plane or train ride to have a healthy snack for the kids. I highly recommend this. If you like these, you may also want to check out Fruity Faces, they are inflatable fruit carriers. They also have a banana carrier that works quite well and then deflates, but large bananas don't fit in them.
Take your banana anywhere! November 21, 2007 Richard Kelly (Manchester, England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Such a simple idea, why has nobody done it before? The banana guard is quite large and takes nearly every size of banana you can buy - I have only had problems with really large straight bananas. I use these when I go off road cycling and have never had a soft squashy banana whilst using one. My children also use then occasionally when taking bananas to schools as part of their packed lunches, they will not be using them when they are a bit older however due to the unfortunate shape... A quality item for keeping your bananas fresh on the move.
Great! August 1, 2007 Wayne Redhart (West Midlands, UK) 30 out of 31 found this review helpful
This is an exceptionally useful item and (as the picture shows) it is a marvel of ergonomic design. Gone are the days of messy banana mishaps and all thanks to the wonders of technology! Since Doreen bought herself this device, she has been carrying it around in her handbag at all times (even though I've never seen her put a banana in it). It's important to be ready for any 'need' that might arise!
