An excellent juicer for the price November 5, 2008 Beadlit (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have been using this for over a year up to 5 times per day, and have never had a problem with it. It is quite a large juicer, but the size and weight make it very sturdy for juicing;it doesn't jump about the worktop like some juicers do! Takes whole fruit without a problem, carrots and even raw beetroot not a problem for it. The juice is very clear, no "bits" in it and it gets all the juice out of everything you can throw at it! Easy to clean, throw it in the dishwasher, or rinses quickly under a tap. The only downside is that the spout is quite low, so need to use a low jug to "catch" the juice. It doesn't come with a receptacle for collecting the juice. Excellent value from a good brand.
Juiced the job! April 11, 2008 A. B. Mcmullon (Carterton, UK) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Very happy with this juicer - works brilliantly on almost every kind of fruit and veg (except bananas and avocados - use a blender for those instead!) and produces lots of juice and reasonably dry pulp. Cleaning is a pain (as on all juicers!) but the tasty fresh juice makes the hassle of cleaning worthwhile. Just be disciplined and wash it straight away otherwise the dried on gunk is hard to remove. Also dispense with the little 'toothbrush' provided for cleaning the mesh and just use a standard nail brush instead - makes it much easier! Few design niggles - the height of the juice spout is a little on the low side but I managed to find a pack of mid-sized straight glasses that fit underneath it perfectly. Also the base could have done with a small cut-out to enable the glass/jug to fit snuggly against the machine. There's no paper filter in this machine so if you don't like pulp in your juice you'll need a small mesh sieve or a muslin bag. The mesh in the juicer doesn't remove the finest pulp from the juice. The info says it has a two-speed motor which is incorrect. Don't know why you would need two-speeds, though. The one speed is fast enough and powerful enough to cope with anything. Make sure you also buy a juice recipe book - but experimenting is good fun if you are the kind of person that can try anything once! Avoid putting celery in anything because it is truly horrible and you can taste even a small amount in a mix of many other things - just cruch through a few sticks as a snack between meals instead! My favourite juice up to now is made from 1 beetroot (for marvellous colour - but don't spill it!), 1 large carrot, one medium sized orange, one medium sized apple, half a lime, and an inch of stem ginger. Serve on ice. Packs a juicy punch! Getting through your 5-a-day has never been easier or more refreshing!

I am most pleased with this juicer and think it is deffinately worth the money. Previously I was using a rather compact Kenwood 3oow juicer which really wasn't up to scratch. The spout where the juice flows out was horrendous, even with the provided plastic glass it just spat it everywhere and was so messy. My new juicer has a really well designed spout and the juice flows nicely into a glass or measuring jug. The pulp collecter is massive and so you could juice all day! It is quite noisy, but then I think prob all juicers are. There are two pushers come with the juicer, I do find that even when I use the one for narrow fruit/veg it does judder slightly,When I'm done though I clean up with a quick scrub of the parts and then pop them in the dishwasher. Overall I am most happy with my purchase and use it everyday. Deffinately better to pay for a juicer than to buy a cheap version which you will end up upgrading anyway.
Great....until it broke! January 16, 2008 L. Adlam 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
I bought this for myself a little over a year ago. I was really happy with the product and used it frequently (top tip: carrot, orange, ginger and lime!! And it's grand with vodka and ice!) It coped well with many different textures/types of fruit/veg and had a large capacity. The mesh was a bind to clean, although I expected this. It produced great results. However, it loses points for the following: -It was carefully packed away in a cupboard but inexplicably broke. I was outside my guarantee period and didn't have the receipt so was unable to get it fixed/replaced. -There is no receptacle provided to catch the juice. The spout was at a rather awkward height so not all jugs/glasses would fit beneath it. -The sheer size - it's a powerful juicer and so has a large, heavy motor...but the pith container is also huge, as is the top/lid. For home juicing for only a couple of people, I'm not sure this size/capacity is necessary. -The price - it's a quality product and the price reflects this, but I'll be replacing my broken juicer with a new one that's cheaper, smaller and less heavy duty.
Just keeps juicing! October 4, 2007 Mrs. A. R. S. Robertson (Edinburgh. Scotland) 29 out of 31 found this review helpful
I was nervous about buying a juicer, thinking I would hardly use it, and it would soon collect dust like similar electric gadgets that I have bought. But was I wrong, I use it every day, and have fun inventing new drinks. My favourite is just oranges and carrots, wow! Even the cleaning is easy, brush provided. Hold on to it when the carrots go through at the end, as there is a slight shudder, but that is the only complaint I have.
