1 out of 5 stars Cheap but doesn't do the job   September 1, 2008
M. Nieto (London, Uk)
I bought this portable dishwasher because it was cheap and had 3 good reviews. But after using it a couple of times I realized I did the wrong purchase. You have to clean everything before you put it into the diswasher, because it is not strong enough to remove things on the utensils or dishes. After 2 weeks of use the inside is full of grease and lime and it is quite difficult to remove. My advise: buy a better dishwasher, mine still works but I am going to buy another one because I am tired of hand washing...

5 out of 5 stars Delighted so far   May 2, 2008

I've never owned a dishwasher before so I've nothing to compare this to, but I'm very very impressed so far.

Certainly it is noisy - even with a closed kitchen door and living room door you can hear it shuddering away, but it isn't too bad.

Its surprisingly spacious - I've been storing up the last two days washing (I live alone but had a guest around the other night) - and I managed to squeeze everything in a single load.

The cleaning is amazing - even heavily crusty plates came out sparkling. I then tried the "rapid" cycle (took just 30 minutes) and the results were just as good.

There is no tap adapter shipped with the washer so if you're not plumbing in you'll need to buy one (luckily I have a spare hot feed that isn't being used by my washing machine).

It feels a bit tinny (to be expected for the price), so I'm not sure how long it will last. If I get a year out of it, I'll consider it a bargain.

4 out of 5 stars Cheap but Brilliant....   April 28, 2008

I bought this dishwasher only because I did not want a large one as I am a single person and I had a budget of about 150. After extensive searching online and reading reviews I finally went with this one based on the feedback left by the buyer before me. And I am happy I did....the machine is exactly what he describes....cheap and tinny but the wash is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. Though I must add that I never had the problem of overheating and I have used it quite a bit since with loads full of dishes. I have listed some good points as well as bad ones.

BAD POINTS:
1. Noisy - But it reduces as it gets working...maybe its the soap suds during the wash.My cat was most upset by the noise but she has calmed down since. The Bodywork is strictly Ok, its quite thin and can be easily dented if not careful.
2. There is a cup rack that is of absolutely no use. I hardly use a tea cup, rather a nice big mug for a cuppa. Placing mugs is no problem, but the manufacturer could do with having the racks adjustable and removable if needed.
3. The waste pipe could do with being a bit longer...It barely reaches the sink as its too short to go under direct to the waste pipe...Its a table top remember. The space for the powder/tablet is a joke. You could just as well chuck the tablet in. Its just a depression instead of a flip cover to hold the tablet...but not a major problem...just irritating.

GOOD POINTS:
1. Brilliant wash - Every time..never had to put in a dish again...the drying is good as well but for some reason you still get drops hanging off the rack...but as long as the dishes are dry, one does not care....
2. Easy to operate with delayed timing....good choice of wash options as well.
3. Very good value for money as compared to the more expensive ones sold and nasty feedback on performance.
4. Economical for a single or two person household. Easy to install as well.
5. Amazon sells it the cheapest thru 24/7 electricals...mine came the next day!! There are others selling it but the delivery charges were horrible.
Thoroughly recommended if you want a budget dishwasher, good value for money and brill results...sounds good to be true but I am a happy customer.

4 out of 5 stars Cheap and feels it - BUT...   December 21, 2007

After several years of sterling service, our trusty old Bosch tabletop dishwasher gave up the ghost. With Christmas approaching our budget was tight, so we went for the cheapest tabletop that would fit in the space that we could find, which was this Coolzone.

In almost every respect this is an inferior dishwasher to our old Bosch: as it's cheap the walls are quite thin and tinny and so it's pretty noisy in operation. It's not as capacious as our previous washer: you can only get about 4-5 full size plates in as they have to go on the right-hand side where the holding prongs are tilted over for plates (to be fair it is advertised as up to four place settings only).

It's also VERY sensitive to overheating. You know how all appliance manuals say "allow at least X cm clearance to prevent overheating" and 9 times out of 10 you can ram said appliance in right up to the wall and it'll work happily? Well the Coolzone is that tenth appliance that really does need its breathing space - if you don't give it the space, it'll keep stopping during the middle of the wash and you'll have to restart it several times. Even with the recommended clearance it very occasionally overheats anyway, but 99% of the time it's OK.

BUT the Coolzone has two very redeeming features: its wash performance is SUPERB, far better than our old Bosch - we rarely have to put a plate or dish back in for a second go, which we used to have to do all the time. It's also super-fast, with a standard mode of just over 1 hour and a rapid mode of just 40 minutes, so it doesn't matter that it doesn't take quite as much of a load, we can get more dishes cleaned in the same time or less than before.

So the bottom line is: it's cheap and that means it has its drawbacks, but its excellent and speedy performance more than makes up for them.
