Powerful little chopper September 7, 2008 AMAZON REVIEWER 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
which does exactly what it says on its box, and is not likely to end up relegated to a dark corner of a cupboard! Efficient in its own right, this super item became especially famous as a 'Delia Cheat Gadget!'(earning itself a removable label on both box and the item in the process) with the publication of the book - Delia's How to Cheat at Cooking and by the TV programme of the same name! But do shop around for the best price, as the prices were a bit high for a while when it became a rarity! Small enough to be easily stored - but do keep it in a safe place as the stainless steel blade - not surprisingly, is ULTRA sharp! Assembles easily and has a safety locking mechanism on the lid, ensuring the item has to be assembled correctly in order to start, but this is easy to learn. Dishwasher safe. Blade chops everything right down to the bottom, evenly..... although some practice is required to start with to avoid a mushy result - easily rectified with less human enthusiasm, i.e. a shorter burst of power! Also, it should be noted that it does require the cutting up of a chunkier vegetable, e.g. an onion, into pieces in order to fit into the bowl, which although has an overall capacity of 350ml equates to c150g overall chopping capacity. Rubber feet keeps the item stable on the work surface and a sensible length of cable - c 4ft. Boxed with registration guarantee and full instructions.
size doesnt always matter! September 2, 2008 Gubbu (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
its been ages since i ordered this little marvel for my darling wife. and if the route to my heart is through my stomach, this little whipper-snapper has surely eased the passage no end! the chopper has been in use for over 3 years now and none of the components have malfunctioned yet. in fact, the blade is still scarily sharp! i would strongly suggest any family of 2 to invest in this lil' genius ... healthy cooking is definitely a breeze with its help. i guess delaying this review so long simply goes to prove how much we've been enjoying this product.
Little Wonder August 22, 2008 I don't have a pen name (West London) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
It was well worth the wait for this to come back into stock following Delia's exploits. This is a very handy and powerful little tool. Small enough to be easily stored and easily accessed rather than having the bind of getting out the full size food processor (currently in a box on top of the fridge right at the back!). It takes a little practice getting used to quite how powerful this is. Cut an onion into quarters before you put it in the mini chopper and it'll practically puree it in 10 seconds. If you want your items a little more chunky e.g. mushrooms then just pulse it a little. The trick is not to overfill so things have a chance to move around in the bowl and nothing gets stuck. The bowl itself is quite straightforward to remove once you get the knack. You can be sure if you buy this it won't be the type of thing that sits away gathering dust.
Excellent product August 9, 2008 Kerry (UK) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic little machine. I've had mine for a while now and have found it really useful for chopping and fine chopping veg (that's all i've used it for so far). It chops one small to medium sized onion, at a time, and although you need to chop things into large chunks (1/4's or 1/8's) to fit them in the small bowl, I still find this less hassle compared to handling and cleaning a normal sized processor. I've also found the bowl quite easy to remove and replace. The best thing is it hardly takes up any space at all in the cupboard, on your work surface or in the dishwasher and it's really lightweight.
