4 out of 5 stars Fairly effective, and humane. Yes, humane. Read on.   August 2, 2008

I used a similar product, turns out to be an effective humane trap, got rid of two mice overnight, and without resorting to slaughter. I must say, the number of reviews unjustly blaming this trap for being "cruel" is astounding. News Flash : this trap does NOT kill the mouse. The very purpose of this trap is NOT to kill it. Like every other humane trap on the market, the only thing it does is CAPTURE it. And like every other humane trap on the market, you are supposed to check it regularly, and dispose of the mouse humanely. You can spare the mouse's life if you feel like it. If you were an atrocious sicko, you could flay it. Or, like some many reviewers have pointed out, you *could* just forget about the trap, and then the mouse will die a slow, ahonizing death. Yes, that would be extremely cruel. Guess what : it's not the way the trap is meant to be used. Every other humane trap on the market could be used in that same sick way. So don't blame this excellent, humane trap just because it could potentially be used in a inhumane way. Anything can potentially be used a an inhumane way. You could beat somebody up with a first aid kit. A mere kitchen knife can be used to inflict tremendous torture. It's not the knife's fault, now is it? Now excuse me, I'm off to review every car I can see at its lowest rating, because it can potentially be used to run over hedgehogs.

I cannot believe that Amazon are actually selling these things, about two years ago I complained to the RSPCA about a shop in my area selling something similar. They are so cruel and cause the animal immense suffering. STOP SELLING THEM AMAZON!

By the way they deserve no stars but that wasn't an option.

Some of the reviews praising this product make me ashamed of being part of the human race. To deliberately inflict that sort of suffering on any creature is beyond contempt. I will certainly never buy anything from this company who must have known how it would be used by cruel, callous and unfeeling people. Indeed I am now having to consider whether to continue being a very good customer of Amazon who are helping to market it. BAN THIS PRODUCT.

4 out of 5 stars inhumane mouse killer   May 19, 2008

Sorry, but I think you animal lovers are taking things too far. I for one take pleasure in seeing these disgusting, disease spreading creatures die a horrible death.

Why, you may ask? The reason being is that they have disrespected me by invading my personal space (i mean they have the whole world out there, why my house?)and they have eaten food that they did not have to work for as well as nyawing away at everything.

They are the worst guests to have ever stayed out my house, they dont contribute anything, and they make a horrible mess...

I will never let a live mouse go free! Why should i? so he can re-enter my house? NO WAY!! I make sure that sucker is dead!!

Maybe some people need to share the same compassion for humans that are suffering all over the globe, rather than having compassion on a pest...

Has anyone who's left a 1-star review actually used one of these? Arn't you supposed to check the trap twice a day to see if a mouse has been trapped, and if so, free it with cooking oil? Therefore, it's only cruel if you abandon the mouse. It's the person who is cruel, not the trap, and not amazon, surely.
