better off with a blender May 2, 2008 TAudrey (Greece) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was sucked in by this being called a 'Smoothie' maker when in fact it's just an inefficient blender. The blades are not at all sharp, so they don't blend my frozen berries well and oranges are just too much for it. The motor is not supposed to run for longer than 60 seconds, which isn't long enough to blend all fruits, and even so it always smells slightly as if it's burning. It won't blend fruit unless quite a lot of liquid is added to it. None of the parts are suitable to be washed in the dishwasher. The tap is just a gimmick, and even if you leave the motor running it often gets blocked. It is also extremely noisy! On the plus side, the design is quite nice but the material is plastic and cheap looking. I'm really looking forward to replacing it as soon as possible.
kenwood smoothie maker April 11, 2008 Philip I. Bamford (Nowich, England) Kenwood, you've really let me down this time. I was getting into the whole healthy state of having a smoothie maker, getting 3 months of use out of the thing. But then the excessive noise it was making became apparent when it appears the screw holding the grinder in place had ground its way to being completely smooth. I thought this thing was supposed to smooth fruit, not screws! not the first design fault apparent with the other reviews i've read.
You get what you pay for. March 7, 2008 C. West (Devizes United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A plastic product that is not very good quality & is difficult & laborious to clean. The tap at the base of the goblet is a trap for food; it has to be dis-assembled each time the Smoothie Maker is used. Buy a good quality hand blender/mixer.
Not sure - may be returning this February 20, 2008 Mrs. Sandra Mcnicoll 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
So it arrived and we made a banana milkshake, recipe in the booklet, delicious, so good in fact we decided to make another batch, the machine then sprang a leak, milkshake was pouring out of the bottom, not good at all. Not sure that it is now safe to use as the liquid was coming down under the motor, also feel it is a little plasticy, was disappointed that the goblet is plastic, would be nicer if it was glass. A good idea but does not live up to our expectations.

I am using this machine nearly for a month and it just working like its first use. Even I am making Frappachino inside it which I use nearly 10-15ice cubes and water with some milk!!!Blenders are very strong, the container is plastic but it didnot get harmed!!!Good to buy for the summer for cool drinks...A*
