Unreliable & Expensive May 28, 2008 SJ (London, UK) I have had my keetle since Dec 07, it has now stopped boiling and the blue light no longer works! I wouldn't recommend it to anybody it looks very nice but is a great disappointment.
Everything i wanted for a kettle and more May 8, 2008 D. Lowe (UK) Very impressed with this kettle. Looks very smart in my new high quality kitchen. The water is very pure, which i do notice as i drink black earl grey tea. I am impressed how quick it is to boil. this is the BEST kettle i have ever had. I recommend it fully :o))

Unfortunately shelling out for a more expensive kettle delivers nothing extra in terms of function or reliability with this kettle. I also have a model with a lid that pops up mid boil or during pouring such that you get a nice blast of scalding steam on your hand when you least expect it. I barely got 6 months use out of it before it started doing this.
Very good... for 20 months while it worked! March 20, 2008 Roxanne Selby (Oxford) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought this was a great product, until it broke after just 20 months. It filtered the water quickly, boiled great tasting water, looked great, and was much loved. Then, the on-off switch broke - the only way to boil the kettle is now to hold down the switch until the water boils (yawn). Not so great. I don't think I'll be buying another. I also had another Brita (not Breville) kettle before this - that lasted only 18 months. Why are filter kettles so shoddily manufactured?
A Bartlett March 9, 2008 Barty (west sussex) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this kettle for a couple of months. Firstly I was very impressed at the speed at which the water filtered through (this had been a real frustration with a previous filter kettle) and of course the pretty lights. However it now frequently fails to boil leaving luke warm water or an aching finger as I have to keep the switch pressed down! A real shame - more of a shame is the aggressive attitude of Breville on trying to replace / return the kettle.
