Lid very poorly constructed August 23, 2008 Andrew Roche (Lincolnshire, UK.) After barely more than a year, I am having to throw mine away. The lid catches are made of poor quality plastic and one of ours broke. I contacted Breville and was told that it is not possible to obtain a replacement lid assembly. It was pretty good in use, but when I pay this amount for a kettle, I expect it to last more than a year. I'll be buying a metal kettle next time.
SHODDY & useless July 8, 2008 I. Trickett (Gillingham. Kent. England) Avoid this at all costs. It doesent switch off when it should, the lid opens at random, especially when pouring, the cartridge holder is loose & Breville customer service should be prosecuted for daring to call themselves 'customer service'. I Repeat ... DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OTHER BREVILLE PRODUCT!
Much improved February 28, 2008 Tixby (London) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Although the filters for this are more expensive than the original Brita models, this kettle is lighter, filters the water much faster and holds more. I have been disappointed with a string of kettles but love this one. It even acts as a "night light" in the kitchen if you want it to...
Elementery my dear Watson February 4, 2008 frazzle (uk) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ok, 1st one Element decided to melt the base after 13 months.Breville replaced it after dragging their heels. 2nd one, another 13 months starting to leak from base! Reading other reviews on other kettles, they all seem to leak at some point. So, my advice is to just sit and watch the nice blue light and not fill it with water, Oh, and don't switch it on..use a sauce-pan. Happy boiling.
