Steam your food the Moroccan Way April 11, 2007 Amazon Reviewer 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
Matt black enamelled cast iron base with glazed earthenware lid. Diameter: 30.5 cm, 12 inches Height: 25 cm, 9.75 inches Boxed. Use and care leaflet included featuring some mouth-watering recipes to get you started! Predominantly aimed at those eager to try traditional North African cooking, 'the tagine' is also suitable for the slow cooking of meat and vegetables. Its 30.5 cm wide, shallow, matt black enamelled cast iron base conducts heat slowly and evenly and the glazed earthenware funnelled lid circulates the steam, from the requirement of only a small amount of liquid, helping to keep the moisture and therefore the delicious flavour of your ingredients locked in. Easy to clean/dishwasher safe. Does need a bit of space to store away, when not in use!
Great cooking product February 25, 2007 Mr. G. Carrel (Evesham, UK) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
Great product, my wife & I saw these Tagines and experienced this traditional style of cooking whilst in Morocco, an experience not to be missed. The 5 spice long cook process makes food taste just fantastic, and when Amazon offered this product at just over forty quid inc. postage we had to have one. Le Creuset cookware is brilliant, we have many saucepans & casserole dishes now and have never been disappointed, so go buy one! Also look out for the Le Creuset fondue set , another great fun product. Diameter is 30.5 cm.
What is the diameter of this pot February 14, 2007 L. R. Leclercq (UK) 8 out of 17 found this review helpful
Tagines are wonderful. I have had a ceramic pot for a while and would consider purchasing the Le Creuset. Unfortunately I can't seem to find out what size it is (diameter. Can anyone help. leeleclercq@aol.com
Will take some getting used to, but the food tastes great! September 9, 2006 S. King (Bedfordshire, Uk) 7 out of 15 found this review helpful
You do need to be rather careful with the quantities of liquid that you add to dishes cooked in the tagine, I have found that it is very easy to add too much and find that its bubbling over within a few minutes, then its a bit of a pain to remove some of it. You won't get a huge amount of food in it either, despite the deceptively large base, as it is quite shallow. On the plus side however, the cast iron base makes it easy to cook the whole dish in your tagine, rather than needing to brown your meat elsewhere, and the end result is very tasty.
