Disappointed, scolded and regretably parched April 22, 2008 Mr. J. S. Wilson 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Fancy a nice hot steaming cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/herbal formula/hot lemony flu medicine/benylin (delete as appropriate)? Well look elsewhere. This kettle will disappoint. Somehow Mr Russell Hobbs MBE has overlooked decades of kettle research and design, and produced a kettle that, as you pour the freshly boiled water into your chosen beverage (see above), will also conveniently scold any physical matter within a 6.75" radius. I have now resorted to making my cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/herbal formula/hot lemony flu medicine/benylin using the hot tap. It's not quite hot enough to taste pleasant, but it has minimised the chances of scolding greatly.
Doesn't Travel, no use abroad! April 12, 2008 Mrs. D. Masters (Portsmouth, UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Whats the point of a travel kettle, that won't work when abroad? Tested in UK before we went, and all seemed fine. Tried to use it in Poland, red light came on to indicate all OK, but water never even got warm. Left it for 3 hours then gave up, on returning to UK fine. Borrowed a friends kettle and no problems so had to be the kettle. Useless.
Stay away November 14, 2007 Madge the Badge (Gravesend) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Wanted to love this as I had an electric Russel Hobbs for thirteen years and cried when it gave up on me and died. So I thought anything by them would be great. Turns out, this is a disaster. The water spills everywhere and it doesn't fit well under the faucet. I thought maybe it was just going to take some getting used to, but it's a disaster. Try something else. Sorry.
waste of money Don't buy! December 22, 2006 Andy (UK) 34 out of 35 found this review helpful
After few weeks of using, the lid becomes useless. It wont close well. And after automatic switch off function doesn't work easily because the steam escape out. Once finish boiling, it is impossible to pour into a cup without spilling everywhere. If you bought it, it is a mistake!
Rubbish March 3, 2005 Hannah Smith 66 out of 67 found this review helpful
Doesn't even deserve one star. Impossible to pour out of without spilling water everywhere. Also you have to fill it up with a jug, because you can't take it to the sink without the faff of unplugging it every time.
