Amazon.co.uk Review After being an avid watcher of Hell's Kitchen, it was clear to me that any kitchen product that Marco Pierre White uses or designs is bound to be very professional. I was right! I have used this carving knife a few times now and I think it's absolutely fantastic and has made my Sunday afternoon job so much easier. The dreadful 15 minute task of carving the wonderful roast my partner has cooked, has turned into a joyful couple of minutes.
The brushed aluminium finish makes it look really stylish and modern and it looks a world apart from my previous carving knife. Also, the soft touch handle means it doesn't just look great, it feels great too.
The two separate blades make it really versatile easy to use and the safety release and finger tip control buttons means it is a lot safer than any other carving knife I have previously used.
I will definitely be looking into other products from the Marco Pierre White range. If this one is anything to go by, they really do make a difference. I highly recommend! -- David Vince, amazon.co.uk

Marco Pierre White by Russell Hobbs 14185 120w Carving Knife in brushed aluminium with universal and frozen blades good points:very stylish looking feels nice in hand bad points: the motor overheats at the slightest cutting will easily smoke and blow up if used daily just cutting bread conclusion: i dont think this is meant to be used as a knife ,dont buy it for this purpose ,this surely is a tv studio prop!worst one on the market and not cheap buyer beware!

Blades were difficult to fit. Motor got very hot. Took it back. DON'T BUY IT - you have been warned!!!!
Very poor indeed. January 16, 2008 dunsto 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I chose this model because of its relativey high power rating but its performance has been very poor indeed. Fresh out of the box the removeable blades didn't consistently 'lock' correctly in the mechanism, rendering the 'cutting' action useless. With luck more than skill, on the odd occasion the blades seemed to be sufficiently ok to risk trying to cut something. After 2 weeks' occasional usage (i.e. when I managed to get the blades to 'lock') its electric motor started 'groaning' and stopped working. Oh, and when it was working I couldn't hang around . . . . the handle gets a bit hot.
totally rubbish do not buy December 29, 2007 Avid Cook (uk) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
This knife was given as an Xmas present, couldnt have been a poorer choice! the blades dont mesh together properly (meat gets stuck between) then it sort of scratches its way thru the joint. Oh yes you can only use it for about 2 mins before the handle gets too hot to hold and it smells of burning. load of rubbish
