great at vacuuming but things break off it with normal use! June 4, 2008 Ms. Jovita Smith (Upchurch, Kent) hi, i used my dyson twice and just clipped the side of the white trim at the bottom and it snapped off - i was being careful - i've never had this happen to any of my cleaners before - vax or hoover and i usually abused those.
have to agree with Rikki... almost May 18, 2008 Karen Elliott I paid 200+ for this model when it first came out (can't remember the exact amount) and it was excellent for the time we had it. I also found that it overheated but then I was abusing it at the time, hoovering up unreasonable amounts of Gypsum dust and wood from DIY jobs would kill any other make. The Dyson just overheated and cut out, after cleaning the filters and leaving it for a while to cool down it was back to normal. It only looses the 1 star because of the overheating while being abused, it's slightly bulky and a bit noisier than other Dysons but quieter than our Vax.
cheap at half the price May 13, 2008 Mr. R. Crossan (scotland) With 5 years parts and labour warrenty and a 110 price tag you cant go wrong, free delivery from amazon took 2 days, we vaccumned our carpet with the old vac then ran over it with the dyson, could not beleive how much dirt the dyson picked up, it was like the carpet hadnt been cleaned for weeks, dyson fans 4 ever.
Look at other Dyson Models First May 10, 2008 Rikki 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This may look like a very low cost Dyson, and there is a reason. It is bulky, heavy and noisy. The motors on DC07's can overheat and cut out, I've had it happen to my DC07. After the first year, Dyson will still fix it but charge you over 1/2 the cost of this unit new to replace the motor. Please read the reviews of the DC07 Origin Yellow/Silver before buying this, as it has the same overall design flaws. It's a powerful machine, but seemingly designed for power rather than reliability. If you do want a Dyson upright, and they can be very good, then my advice is to look at later models first.
