Almost perfect October 10, 2008 W. Parkin (Notts UK) When our second Dyson expired after 7 years service,(the flex shorted out in the machine),we decided, as our new place is smaller with wooden floors downstairs,to replace it with a cheaper machine.Big mistake!,we hated it from day one.Noisy, heavy, awkward, inefficient, filters kept clogging. so when after 6 wks it stopped working it was a cause for celebration, got our money back from Argos and bought a DC24. I chose it for its lightness, but still got a surprise when we unpacked it at how small it seemed. This is a powerful machine though, the first time I used it the cylinder was half full of hairs and dust, the residue in the carpets and rugs that our previous "new cleaner" had failed to collect. Its extremely user friendly, especially on the stairs. With previous cleaners, it was awkward and tiring, the DC24 is so light and compact I use the machine itself ,not the hose and brush attachment. Speaking of attachments, there is only one which comes with the machine, any others you want ,you have to buy separately, which is a bit much when buying something as dear as a Dyson. The cable isn't as long as previous Dysons either, but these are my only quibbles ,we are very pleased with it.
Expensive to buy, But Great Value For Money October 10, 2008 Yorky (Northants) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After having a Dyson 07 for several years it finally reluctantly needed replacing. We decided to try an alternative make, it lasted 10 weeks and was never as good as our old dyson. We saw the DC24 and thought it's compact size and light weight would be useful. When it arrived I thought is was a childs toy as it was so tiny. It was in several peices but using the Quick Guide, it was "Up and Running" in less than 5mins. It did seam stange at first as the ball and the low centre of gravity takes a little getting used, but it is much less work that any conventional uprights. Having 2 dogs who malt 24/7 was going to be the toughest test but every hair was collected in seconds. the collection bowl is quite small but is very easy to empty ( make sure you are outside and directly over the Bin )the moter has a quieter, lower tone than any vacuum I have heard, If you can afford 200 you will not regret it.
Wow !! October 3, 2008 Ms. C. S. Davitt 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love my Dyson. It's so light and simple to use. The ball makes it so easy to move and I feel like I'm dancing rather than Hoovering! It's easy to fit together when you first get it with the instructions being really easy to understand. It's just as good as a full size dyson but with the added benefit of it being easier to store due to it's collapsable handle. It's really great on the stairs because of it's light weight. Really worth the money and by far Amazon has the best prices around for this one.

I agonised for weeks before I bought this... did I need HEPA filtration or not, was it just a gimmick... Well as someone who sneezed everytime I vacuumed, using this is so, so impressive. Yes, the amount of dirt (not fluff, it was d-i-r-t) that it got out of the carpet was impressive, but the fact that I didn't sneeze once more than justifies the price. Aside from the HEPA filtration, the ball makes it easy to whizz around furniture, and the suction is incredible. The only slighly negative point it that it's a bit heavy - but my nose and I can more than live with that. I never thought I'd be raving over a vacumm cleaner, but it's like my new toy right now.
Fantastic - I wonder if HOOVER are going to copy this patent? August 19, 2008 Brendan T. Hole (UK) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Buying a Dyson saved the hassle of making shore you had some bags for your hoover as you didnt need any for it - which is great! So, when i saw this design (and knowing how good Dysons are at sucking things up) I just had to have it! Its funny how all the hoover companies who wouldn't except Dyson's designs immediately copied them when his hoover was selling like mad. The only problems with it would be just picking just like you can do with other hoovers. - I think this Vacuum Cleaner is the best I've ever bought (for the price it is definitely worth it!).
