Excellent May 16, 2008 J. Spence 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It arrived promptly and looks good, especially for the price. It boils quickly and lights up so you know it's turned on. It also has a whistle when it's boiled, although I've turned this off now as the novelty has worn off. Just need to find a four slot toaster to match
It broke within a year April 8, 2008 Harty 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought this kettle from Amazon last May and it has broken already. It is not connecting properly with the base so works in a certain position but mostly not. I am still waiting to hear about a refund..........
A good kettle at a good price March 4, 2008 dj.si (London, England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was recently looking for a replacement for my old Rowenta jug kettle (14 years without a single fault, but the plastic was starting to perish around the spout). I wanted something that would do the job, wasn't overly expensive and would hopefully last a few years. This Morphy Richards model came highly recommended in the "Which?" report, was selling for just 17 quid at a few stores (as well as Amazon), and comes with a 2-year guarantee. I've had mine for only just over a week, but so far it seems to work well. It's lighter than my previous kettle but is stable, and it boils quickly. There's a little bit of a plasticky smell when it boils but I think that's just because it's still quite new - there's no plasticky taste to the water. My only minor niggle is that it could switch off a few seconds sooner once it's boiling, so if half stars could be awarded, I would have given 4.5 out of 5. But all in all this seems to be a very good kettle at a very reasonable price.
does what it says..... January 24, 2008 W. Rollason (Bristol) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful

Great boiler and pourer with whistle and light! December 29, 2007 Cotswold (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We have had a run of bad luck with kettles in the last two years- Tefal Stainless one where lid would not stay down, Kenwood white plastic JK770 one that leaked from base after 1 month of use. Now we have bought this one based on Which? review. Verdict- love it, it has just coped with Christmas- 160 tea bags used in a week so many teapots filled. It is light, easy to fill, good to pour, takes up little space on the work surface, boils quickly and whistles when it has boiled- our model cannot be disabled in this respect- can a get a little tiresome. Also glows red when switched on. Overall a great kettle- just hope it copes with a full year or two of service.
