Good looks but short life October 2, 2008 Mrs. Anna M. Hawker This is the most expensive toaster I have owned and it lasted the shortest time. The design looks great but it lasted less than 18 months before the pop up mechanism has broken rendering it useless. I wouldn't recomend it to anyone. We also bought the matching kettle and the lid on this is hopeless as it will not stay down if the kettle is more than 1/3rd full.
Do not buy September 27, 2008 P. A. Lake (Hertfordshire) Bought the toaster just over a year ago as liked the style and apparent build quality and features. Worked well for a very short time. The digital programme feature is it's downfall as frequently now the bread lowering (toast activating mechanism) will not stay down, toast browning level buttons are all out of sequence. When turning on power supply sometimes the unit will switch on but other times does not activate and have to swith power supply on and off a dozen or more times. Overall if I had manufactured this item I would be ashamed - it is shoddy and has alienated me from buying any other products from this manufacturer.
Looks can deceive! September 13, 2008 Mr. Edward Astin (North Yorkshire) Bought one of these expensive toasters 3 years ago to match kettle which still works. However the lever control refused to stay down unless held and finally we got sick of this. It looked good so we thought we were just unlucky and bought another one 4 months ago. This one developed the exact same fault and so we will not risk purchasing another which looks good but clearly has design and quality control faults which mean it is only useful as an ornament rather than a functional appliance! DON'T BUY IT.
Looks good but that's about it September 10, 2008 Mr. M. L. Sketchley This is the worst toaster we've ever owned. It looks good, but the amount to which the bread is toasted is a complete lottery regardless of the setting it's on. It lasted about 18 months before starting to malfunction, now has a mind of its own. DON'T BUY ONE!
All style and no staying power August 28, 2008 LC (London) I was seduced by the good look of this toaster. I went away for 4 months soon after I'd bought it but after using it for a while on my return the lever stopped staying down - and guess what? It'd just passed it's 1 year birthday, so there's no point doing anything except to balance my water filter on top of a teapot and checking every now and then so the toast doesn't burn. It's been four years now and at least it's still toasting. Interesting to see I'm not the only one though and they're still selling it despite all the negative comments. Goes to show you only have to look good these days.....
