Great coffee October 3, 2008 V. Bojovic (London UK) Just got the DeLonghi EC330S Espresso Maker today. Just followed the instructions (very simple)and made 2 superb lattes, just like that! Espresso is creamy and rich. The milk frother is exellent. This machine puts the high street coffee shops to shame. Its the third coffe maker I have had but its the best by a long way. It is a bit loud and vibrates slightly when the pump starts, but its well built and easy to clean. If it is reliable....it will be the perfect home coffee maker.
Delonghi EC330S Espresso Machine August 20, 2008 Martin Ismail (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this espresso machine 2 weeks ago from Argos ( I had some nectar points to use up) sorry Amazon. After opening the box and placing it on my kitchen work top, i was pleasently surprised by its solid looking build and attractive looks, it didn't look out of place in my modern kitchen. So I read the instructions and followed the primming of the pump and after a few mintues was ready to brew my first coffee. Now I enjoy my coffee and I do know how to make a damn good espresso using the traditional stove top moka style, I even order my coffee beans which are roasted to order, so I know my coffee. When I bought this machine I thought I was going to get a more superiror tasting coffee, but unfortunatley this is farther from the truth. For a start the pump is very noisy, but I would have put up with that if it resulted in a great tasting espresso, but the noise was acompanied by a vibration which when the espresso cups where in place began to move around for the coffee to go all over the drip tray. So I had to hold the cups while the coffee brew dripped out into them, then came the taste test. Well I have to be honest, the Bialetti stove top moka gave me the most flavorsome coffee, the delonghi I'm sorry to say is not worth the money, the time it takes to prepare for coffee is alot longer than before and then the end result is not as good as the moka. So if you want a coffee machine just to look good in your kitchen then buy it, but if you want great tasting coffee on a budget go for a Bialetti moka you cant go wrong.
Delonghi 330 coffee maker August 7, 2008 B. Garfield (london England) DeLonghi EC330S 15 Bar Pumped Espresso MakerJust a quick review of this unit. got it off a well known auction site, refurbished ( 42) and it makes the best coffe I've made at home. Being a pump type, it is a little noisy, but the end result is what matters and it's perfect. I use Quality Espresso coffee(Tchibo or Lavazza Espresso) and cold semi skimmed milk, a few shots of a flavoured syrup(Starbucks)and a sprinkle of chocolate on top and it's perfect. A pleasure to make and great hot tasty coffee. A bit of a hassle to clean up, but worth the effort. If used properly, this is a very nice item to have.
Genuine Espresso Machine June 23, 2008 Simon-E 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I decided to buy an Espresso machine after a friend at work bought one. I'm not an Espresso drinker but I love Cappuccino. I bought a 40 machine but found that the milk device was not a proper Pannarello system i.e. steam blowing through a pipe, but rather a heated plate with a daft spinning blade in the tube. Also the other parts seemed cheap. All my fault, I should have done some more research. I returned that item and bought the DeLonghi EC330. Now this is much more like it. Heavy and mostly stainless steel. The parts are much better quality and construction and the instructions are far more thorough. The whole thing is verging on the professional (from the point of view of a coffee novice anyway!) Negatives - as listed below, the machine is quite noisey but I like that as it gives it a coffee shop atmosphere! The gap for the cups is quite small which is ok for espresso but you need low wide cups for Cappuccino. The steam spout is quite low so you need a small jug or have to place the machine at the edge of your work surface to get under it. Positives - Clear and thorough instructions, professional quality feel to all the parts, easy to use (especially the included Illy pods). Makes lovely coffee and the milk steamer is so easy to use. This machine looks impressive and gives great results and it feels like the real deal - don't be fooled by the cheaper imitations.
Fantastic Little Expresso Maker!!! March 23, 2008 J. Man (England) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I got this yesterday, after comparing loads of different makes and models. I'm really impressed and it does exactly what it's suppose to. Please ignore the ignorance of the first reviewer because if they think instant coffee is best they are clearly of the 'let's go to Mcdonalds for Sunday Lunch' crew. It take a 'proper' Barista years to perfect the art of the perfect expresso. The expressos that I've produced are getting better every time and the steamer works a treat. I'd highly recommend this product. It's only 100!! I've knocked a star off for the slightly noisy running of the machine, it'd be a 5 star product if it was heavier and quieter but don't let this put you off. It's great value.
