The 3 Tier Aquatimer Ultra has compact baskets that store fold down each other and over the base for complete storage. The descaling turbo ring starts the steaming process in just 15 seconds for faster cooking. Three 3 litre bowls allow you to cook an entire meal in one go. The 3 tier Aquatimer is easy to use - the timer can be set for up to 60 minutes and left to cook. You can also top up water without interrupting the cooking process. Automatic switch off means you don't have to watch over cooking and there will be no boiling dry. All removable parts are easy to clean, as they go straight into the dishwasher. You can also use the juices from the juice collector for stocks, gravies and sauces. With a large water level gauge for ease of use and a translucent water tank. I had high hopes for this steamer. I was attracted to it because it was a well known make and that it promised that it was easily storable. It wasnt and it doesnt work right either.
It works fine if you use one basket but if you attempt to use 2 or 3 then the food doesnt cook right- and takes ages.
I had a dinner party and had to wait over an hour for some carrots, sweetcorn and mange tout ro cook in this- total disaster. The steam is not warm enough to cook more than one basket and has fizzled out by the time it reachs the 3rd. Potatoes were a definate no- no.
So apart form not being warm enough and not cooking properily has it anything going for it.
Well the timer works ok but if you cook 3 baskets you need to reset it twice as it only goes up to 60 mins.
The design is really flimpsy- cheap pastic baskets that DO NOT fit into each other so its takes up tons of space. I would also say that they dont sit right in each other as well- losing more steam.
This is a huge disappointement and I would definately recommend buying another steamer. I had a steamer previosily that I loved and threw it away for this one- I bitterily regret doing so.
This one is being given to the charity shop -dont waste your money on it too.
