We've has a dyson for at least 5 years but it recently decided it had had enough and refused to work. With a Springer Spaniel in the house vacuuming is something that we do a lot of (at least once a day) and it can be difficult to pick up the hair from the carpet with some vacuums.
The DC25 animal is fantastic. It picks the majority of the hairs up from the carpet on the first go and has drastically reduced the length of time that it takes us to vacuum the downstairs of the house. the ball makes it so easy to steer too and it's lighter and smaller than our previous Dyson, although it is just as sturdy. I would recommend this for anyone with a particularly messy pet.

a dyson dc25 was oredered on the 10th Aug..........and im still waiting for delivery, i have sent 4 emails asking for an explanation and im still waiting for a reply, the couriers City Link have been contacted and as far as the depot manager is concerned they have not received my parcel from amazon even the delivery status from amazon reads "order completed"......hopefully i will be contacted by amazon if and when they read this i maybe just get an explanation to the whereabouts of my 260 dyson!! I needed a new vauum cleaner and have a springer spaniel who does moult constantly. I also have 4 month old twins so cleaning ability and cleanliness were top of my list of priorities. I read the previous reviews and decided to order the DC25-Animal. It arrived the next day (great service)and was very easy to assemble. I had hoovered yesterday so was not expecting to see much. Oh my goodness - I filled the collecting box with only the hall, dining room and sitting room. It made me feel quite queasy that all that hair and dust was there on what looked like a clean carpet. The machine is light, quiet, and easy to manoeuvre, with no doggy vacuum smells. Seemed expensive but I am so glad I went for this product.

This hoover is brilliant, I have an Alaskan Malamute and believe me they shed! their hair gets everywhere and it's not easy to get up off carpet and rugs but this hoover is fantastic and i'm not forever going over the same bit just to get some hair, it makes cleaning soooo much easier. highly reccommend! as for the price, atleast it's got 5 year garantee, which is great. If you've got a big hairy pet this hoover is for you! :-)

I have owned a Dyson for the last approx 8 years, and for approx, 8 of them I have been unhappy with the product. Despite this fact, I bought a Dyson 'Animal' to replace the original DC04 that had permaturely burnt out. That was my big mistake. Honestly - please DO NOT believe the hype - Dysons are Indonesian made and distinctly BELOW average hoovers. They are INCREDIBLY loud - I am amazed that UK health & safety have overlooked these appliances ( I wonder why...).
They are incredibly heavy.
In their advertisements they say that other brand vacuum cleaners have no way to turn corners because of their four wheel system - NOT TRUE. Try it with your own Hoover or other if you dont believe me. To summarise - I bought a MIELE - Quiet, light, efficient; OK it needs bags but that means less plastic 'Sainsburys' bags in the landfill from your dyson fallout and more paper Miele DISPOSABLE bags instead. You know it makes sense.
