Lattissima EN660 August 18, 2008 I. Baker (Hampshire, UK) I bought one of these and really like it. The automatic frothing feature works really well, and if you like milk-based coffee drinks (Cappuccino and Latte) sets this one apart from any similar products. Contrary to some of the other reports, as long as you leave the machine to warm up for a while, or run a Lungo through it as soon as you switch it on, the coffee that comes out of the machine is too hot to drink!
Great Machine And Simple To Use. July 18, 2008 C. Overman (UK) I have found this machine to make excellent tasting coffee. It is so simple to use and easy to keep clean too. For anyone having problems with the temperature of drinks being too low I would recommend running a lungo of hot water through first and then pressing the steam clean button for around 12 seconds just to warm everything up. I also find using Bodum Pavina glasses help retain the heat of the drink far greater than any other glass I have used before. Another tip is to use Cravendale milk as it seems to froth better and lasts much longer than normal milks before going sour. This is of particular help as the milk container with this machine does not seem particularly airtight
Second time lucky July 10, 2008 Matthew Cochrane (East Sussex U.K) I recently bought this machine and was incredibly dissapointed. It produced, at best, luke warm coffe. I exchanged the machine for another just to be sure that it was just not a good coffe machine. My new one arrived yesterday and it is like a completely different model. ALL of the coffees are piping hot (and I'm known as cast iron guts, for how hot I drink my tea and coffee). So, if your machine produces luke warm coffee, it is faulty and needs exchanging, a fault that Delonghi are aware of.
Luke warm is optimistic June 20, 2008 Peter Brunskill (West Yorkshire UK) Makes nice coffee but it is just not hot. You can down the whole cup as soon as its made and it still feels as though you've left it to cool for 10 mins. Or have I just got a rogue machine? Obviously not if the review above is typical. Swithched from Tassimo for the extended range of coffeees (which is a major bonus) but if I have to microwave each completed cup to make it warm enough then I reckon even at 179 its way too expensive. Cannot begin to describe just how hugely disappointed I have been with the machine.
great item April 23, 2008 coffee lover (Skopje, Macedonia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I don't normally write reviews but since I nearly didn't buy the machine because of the poor reviews I feel compleed to say what I think. The machine makes great HOT coffee - in fact hotter than the one I made with our old Magimix 150. I spoke to a Nespresso barista at Selfridges who suggested that you run a shot of lungo without a pod every morning followed by a shot of hot water (or press clean button on milk carafe for a few seconds). I do this now each morning and have no problems getting perfect coffee. And it only takes half a minute to do. My only comment is that the machine is more noisy than I would prefer. But I would definitely recommend it.
