Product Description This Philips Juicer gives you all the juice without the fuss thanks to its patented micro-mesh filter and powerful 700W motor. The extra-large feeding tube easily takes whole fruits and vegetables, so you don`t have to peel, core, de-seed or chop first anymore. OK, but NOT for Heavy Duty Use June 10, 2008 M. Galangco (Newcastle, England) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this juicer about March 2008 when me and my partner turned into raw food vegans. This means we use the juicer at least 2x a day, every day. At first we thought it's good value for money, because the price is very affordable. It's also not that difficult to clean, and it looks stylish. I like the wide mouth, saves us having to slice all the time! Later on however, we notice that the pulp is getting wetter and wetter. We've had it for about 4 months now, and nowadays the pulp appears almost like really wet mash, especially when we use pineapples. So now we are convinced we aren't getting the most juice out of our expensive organic fruits and veggies! :( I would recommend it for people who are trying to experiment adopting a healthier diet, but not so sure if they are going to be able to stick to it as a lifestyle just yet. This way, if you end up not using the juicer as you initially planned, then at least you didnt lose much money! However, for those who are shopping for a replacement juicer, and those who plan to use the juicer for daily consistent use, I'd look for the more heavy duty juicers available in the market.
If you're looking for a juicer, look no further June 3, 2008 S. Ives (Cambridgeshire, UK) This is probably the best purchase I've made in a long time. It's very impressive looking, which makes you want to use it all the more. All parts are dishwasher safe, which is nice, but in reality I've not had to put it in the washer once because everything rinses off so easily. It's loud enough to scare the cat if she's perched nearby, but doesn't seem to bother anyone else. Excellent amounts of juice, and I love the foam seperator, is brilliantly simple and effective.
juice and more juice! March 26, 2008 Daniele (Slough) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This has easily been the best purchase of the year for me, so far! This is my first juicer. I spent a lot of time reviewing different products in various price categories, and this one seemed to have the best reviews and an acceptable price. And boy am I glad I chose this one. Making juice could not be easier! Most fruits you don't even need to cut open or peel, the juicer is very very powerful and will do all the hard work for you. It's important to know that this is not a blender, but purely a juicer. So it can't take foods like avocados and bananas, as they would not pass the very fine filter. If you want to make smoothies, you need a blender. But for juice, this is your toy! The reason I have never bought a juicer before is because I was afraid that the washing up bit would put me off. You know.. countless pieces, taking it apart, parts not fitting in the dishwasher.. the usual drill. NOT with this baby. Washing it is so quick, hat I have never even wanted to put the parts in the dishwasher. The pulp and juice rinses off easily, and within a few minutes your juicer is clean and put back together. Great product!
Broke down after 2 months usage March 3, 2008 C. Dunne (UK) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Perplexed when this simply stopped working after 2 months: unfortunately I hadn't kept the warranty so just put it down to experience. I had been extremely impressed with the product (while it was working!) so bought another juicer when it was in the amazon sale. Currently the second juicer is still working after 1 months use.
Great looking, sturdy piece of kit! February 25, 2008 A. Claudel (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
LOVE this. It impressively obliterates apples and carrots also looks very smart and industrial indeed; it's a sturdy bit of kit. The pulp is surprisingly dry, the jug contains the juice nicely with no mess and the foam filter is simple but efficient. Thought it'd all be a pain to wash and clean but in the few goes I've had so far I've scooped as much as I can out and the rest has rinsed away with ease after a scrub with the little brush provided. As it is preferable to drink juices immediately/as soon as possible, I'm still wondering whether this somewhat large gadget really is necessary for me + one other to have a quick juice or two a day (probably not) BUT the reviews pointed me this way, as did the way it looks and the fact it is easy to clean does score points. If Phillips did a smaller version of exactly this model, I'd have bought it as there's probably capacity to juice for a football team in two rounds! I'm about to hit supermarket to stock up on ingredients for some of Jason Vale's intriguing recipes. Can brussell sprouts and beetroots in juices really be nice?
