I bought this Bodum butter dish, partly because of its reputation for design and quality. I have to say i was disappointed in the plastic, not glass top and then in my bag on the way home the bobble on top snapped off. On the plus side the base seems solid and the service was good.

The lid is plastic, not glass (as the description states!). This is disappointing for an otherwise stylish butter dish. Glass would be superior, both for its clear sheen and, relatedly, it wouldn't scratch.
