Purchased one of these lights for my mum. It is easily bright enough to cover both pages and is fairly priced. Had it for a few months now, and still going strong (as expected). Does what it claims to.

I have only just bought this so am unable to comment on the battery life. The light is very bright, and has just the right coverage for a book. It weighs next to nothing, so that you barely notice it when attached to your book. Very pleased with it.
