Dont Buy August 1, 2008 Mr. B. J. Clemmans Bought 2 of these just over a year ago . My stepdaughters chiller unit packed up a few weeks out of warranty. Having switched ours off before a 2 week holiday, when switching back on again, lo and behold ours no longer chills. Having just read other customer reviews it is quite obvious that the product has a very limited shelf life, which at nearly 100 is not acceptable. In addition I found Breville customer services particularly unhelpful when trying to locate a local dealership who could perhaps carry out repairs.

Brita Aqua Fountain Water Filter Chiller - Stainless Steel I think this porduct is exellant, I have had no leaks, it works very well and we love the water from it. Yes it is a little noisy but you get used to that I wouldn't be with out it. My only moan is I'm the one that keeps having to fill it up as everyone is drinking it. We never drunk water before we do now and even make our coffee with it and if I'm only making a cup of tea for me I use it in that as well. It makes a lovely cupper with a tea bag in a cup for quickness. Well done Brita great product.
Very satisfied May 14, 2008 R. Loftus (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had this for about 9 months now and have saved a fortune on bottled water. Have had no problems with any of the mechanics and yes although it makes a small noise thats to be expected as its essentially acting like a fridge. We use this constantly and I have even started filling the ice cube bags/trays with the water - its already chilled and they taste tons better with filtered water. Normally when you purchase an unusual kitchen appliance it usually finds itself relegated to the top of the cupboards ( im talking juicers and sandwich toasters here ) - this is in pride of place on the kitchen counter and is used all the time. If I was to have a small whine it would be to do with the storage capacity - the amount of water that is consumed in our house we have to keep a jug nearby to top it up with tap water every day. But its a small complaint compared to having lovely cold water on tap.
Ideal if you like ringing Breville Customer Services April 7, 2008 Tellboy (Manchester) If it is not leaking or making too much noise it is failing to do the job it is designed for , chilling water. You need to mess around for ages to get rid of air locks so it will dispense water. My first one came to a grinding halt with a grating sound from the motor. A very bad purchase but at least it was good enough to pack in just before the warranty expired.
Worst electrical appliance in the house April 5, 2008 R. Corbett (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've gone through three of these units (two silver and one white) in the past 21 months. They either eventually fail to dispense water due to some kind of air blockage and / or fail to chill the water. Avoid at all costs.
